(LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) – A new mainstage production comes to Music Mountain Theatre (MMT) in Lambertville, New Jersey for a three-weekend run. Agatha Christie’s famous whodunit mystery, Murder on the Orient Express, will be the fifth mainstage show of MMT’s 2024 season.

Inspired by events of the time, including the kidnapping of Charles Augustus Lindbergh, Jr. in 1932, and a stalled ride on the actual Orient Express experienced by Christie herself in 1931, Murder on the Orient Express is filled with twists, turns, and a final reveal still considered to be one of the most ingenious ever devised.

Based on the novel of the same name, Murder on the Orient Express was adapted for the stage by Ken Ludwig, and features the Belgian private detective Hercule Poirot, one of Christie’s longest-running characters, who appeared in 33 novels and 51 short stories published between 1920 and 1975.

Poirot, played by Patrick Lavery, a well-known MMT face, is one of many passengers traveling aboard the luxury train, the Orient Express. Rounding out this talented cast are Cathy Alaimo, Stephen Hoppe, Nicholas Kianka, Chelsea Connelly Lewis, Roger Madding, Alison McMullen, Regina Belza Mercadante, Mike Prikril, and Morgan Tarrant, as passengers and suspects on this dastardly train ride.

When a snowdrift causes the train to stall with no escape for its colorful passengers, and Samuel Ratchett is found murdered in his compartment with multiple stab wounds, Poirot is on the case! Will he, or you, be able to solve the Murder on the Orient Express?

For all MMT shows, discounted tickets are available for students, seniors, and members of the military, as well as for subscribers to MMT, and in group sales of fifteen or more.
