New York, NY – Following her Best Actor Win and Play Selection at SheNYC, A.R.T./New York Theatres will host a one-day presentation of Grace Aki’s award-winning comedic solo play, To Free a Mockingbird on Monday, June 26th. To Free a Mockingbird is a play combining storytelling and stand-up.
The presentation is set for Monday, June 26th at 4:30 pm EST, with a run time of 75 min. at A.R.T./New York Theatres, Gural Theater Space 502 West 53rd Street, New York, NY 10019. Developed by Kate Robards, Michael Fling, SheNYC, and Seth Barrish Instruction at The Barrow Group.
The story of a family’s journey from Japan through the American South. A solo work with family secrets and lessons on how our stories get told. To Free A Mockingbird is a vulnerable and daring piece, filled with effortless humor and honesty. This is her story and maybe yours as well. After all, generational trauma is…funny.
