Bryn Mawr, PA – Opera Philadelphia teams up with Bryn Mawr Film Institute on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 1:00 p.m. for a unique program sure to appeal to both film aficianados and opera lovers.

“There’s Something About Verdi” explores the genius of composer Giuseppe Verdi, whose operas have long graced the Opera Philadelphia stage, most recently in September’s new production of Simon Boccanegra.

In “There’s Something About Verdi,” journalist/filmmaker August Ventura takes us into the high-stakes opera world of Parma, Italy, using history, anecdotes, interviews, and more. The centerpiece of this multimedia program is a screening of the long-lost documentary “In the Mouth of the Wolf” (1963), following a tumultuous production of Verdi’s Luisa Miller as the cast prepares to face Parma’s notoriously demanding audience.
