NEWSROOM POST: NEW HOPE, PENNSYLVANIA
Celebrated Violinist Cho-Liang Lin Joins Concordia for Special Performance of Chamber Music Masterworks. The public is invited to attend a free open rehearsal on Saturday, November 8 at 3:30 PM at the Rago Auctions
New Hope, PA – Bucks County’s premier chamber music ensemble, Concordia Chamber Players, is thrilled to announce an upcoming concert that represents far more than a single afternoon of exceptional performances—it’s a homecoming, a celebration of mentorship, and a testament to the enduring bonds forged through a lifetime of musical collaboration.
On Sunday, November 9 at 3pm, world-renowned violinist Cho-Liang Lin joins Concordia Chamber Players for the first time. The connection between Lin and Concordia’s artistic director, cellist, Michelle Djokic, dates back decades to Juilliard Pre-College, where the two met at age 12 and played together in a string quartet throughout their pre-college and college years. Their shared musical journey created a partnership that has only deepened with time—and now, with Lin’s remarkable career as both a celebrated performer and a revered pedagogue having shaped countless musicians, the moment feels particularly meaningful.

This concert brings together a constellation of exceptional talent. Joining Lin and Djokic will be violinist Anna Lee, one of Lin’s distinguished mentees, along with chamber music veteran Daniel Phillips and recent Juilliard graduate Ramon Carrero Martinez on viola. Together, this stellar ensemble will guide the audience through an evening of profound chamber music.

The program opens with the deeply expressive Adagio from Anton Bruckner’s String Quintet in F Major, before moving into Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Phantasy Quintet—a work that showcases the viola’s luminous voice in ways that few compositions do. The evening concludes with Johannes Brahms’s String Quintet in G Major, Opus 111, a late masterwork brimming with the compositional wisdom and signature themes that define the composer’s legacy.

This is the kind of musical gathering that reminds us why chamber music matters: intimate conversations between friends, wisdom passed from mentor to student, and the profound beauty that emerges when accomplished artists come together in service of great music. We’re honored to host these world-class musicians here in Bucks County for what promises to be an unforgettable evening.
The public is invited to attend a free open rehearsal on Saturday, November 8 @ 3:30 PM at the Rago Auctions, 333 N Main St, Lambertville, NJ. This unique opportunity allows audiences to witness the collaborative process behind bringing these masterful arrangements to life.
