Two Long-Serving Board Members Retire from Sculpture Park’s Board of Trustees While Four New Members Are Elected to Join its Board
Hamilton, NJ – Grounds For Sculpture (GFS) today announced the retirement of two longstandingboard members and the election of four new board members to its Board of Trustees. The two outgoing board members, Scott McVayand Yoram (Jerry) Wind, retired in December 2025; Jose Borbolla-Escoboza,Layo Bright, and John Y. Wind joined in 2025;and Manting Chiang began her service this month. With 26 years of combined service, Scott McVay and Jerry Wind will leave an indelible impact on the sculpture park’s legacy while the new board membersdraw from broad expertise as community leaders in the arts and healthcare, strengthening GFS’ ability to advance its goals, particularly in theartsand wellness spaces in New Jersey and beyond.

Retiring Board Members
Scott McVay
Scott McVay joined the GFS Board in October 2011, and with his retirement from the Boardthis past December, he dedicated14 years of service. With fondness for GFS’ late founder, Seward Johnson, he cultivated a significant commitment to the accessibility of art, a cornerstone of Johnson’s vision.
During his tenure as a board member, he drew on his passion for art and experience as the Founding Executive Director of the Geraldine Dodge Foundation and service on 28 boards, including those of fellow sculpture park Storm Kingand the Smithsonian. McVay was on the Board’s Development Committee for 14 years, and along with his wife, Hella, also supported the horticulture program at Grounds For Sculpture. Together, they contributed one of the first endowment gifts in honor of the Living Collection, elevating its critical importance at the nonprofit, and the park’s Winter Garden will be permanently cared for thanks to their generosity. Their support of the arts at the park also extended to the current exhibition, Salvador Jiménez-Flores: Raíces & Resistencias, which will be on view through August 1, 2027, advancingthe organization’s ability to be inclusive, reflective, and responsive to the current cultural moment and the diverse communities it serves.
Yoram (Jerry) Wind
With his retirement in December 2025, Jerry Wind completed 12 years of service on the GFS Board. As a board member, he was a member of the Art Committee; made the construction of a popular work at GFS, Harp of David #1, possible; expanded the GFS sculpture collection through donated artwork; and contributed his wide-ranging nonprofit expertise from the arts and education sectors, particularly his tenure as a Board of the Philadelphia Art Museum andas a Lauder Professor Emeritus and Professor of Marketingat The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. His legacy at GFS will continue past his retirement: he will remain an active member of the Art Committee,and his son, John Y. Wind, joined the GFS Board in September 2025.

New Board Members
Jose Borbolla-Escoboza
A native of Mexico, Jose Borbolla-Escobozajoined the GFS Board of Trustees in September 2025. A medical doctor who practiced clinical, academic and research medicinefor over 15 years, he transitioned to the pharmaceutical industry in 2010, where he is currently the Vice President Global Medical Affairs, Oncology,at Kyowa Kirin, a Japanese pharmaceutical group located in nearby Princeton, New Jersey. With his addition to the GFS Board, he will bring a wealth of healthcare expertise that will help further GFS’ wellness initiative and a diverse, international perspective. He holds a M.D. from the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California, Mexico.
Layo Bright
Originally from Lagos, Nigeria, Layo Bright began her tenure on the GFS Board in June 2025. Her relationship with Grounds For Sculpture started in 2018, when she had an International Studio Center Sculpture Residency at GFS. Since 2023, she has also been an active member of the Creative Advisory Council. She is a visual artist who explores migration, legacy and identity through hybrid portraits, textiles, and mixed media works. One of her works, 9:29. May 25, 2020. George Floyd Murder #147, was acquiredby GFSin 2025. As one of twopracticing artists on the Board, she brings a much-needed perspective to GFS, which recently subsumed25 artists’ studiosand Johnson Atelier, a for-profit organization with state-of-the-art sculpture fabrication and restoration capabilities, both of which are housed on the park’s 42-acre campus. Bright received her LL. B (Hons.) from Babcock University, was called to the Nigerian Bar Association, and received her MFA in Fine Art (Hons.) from The New School Parsons School of Design.She has exhibited work both internationally and nationally. Her recent solo museum debut at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Dawn and Dusk, was reviewed by ArtForum and Artnet News; and her works were featured in the seminal group exhibition A Two-Way Mirrorat The Museum of Glass, Tacoma, Washington.
John Y. Wind
John Y. Wind is a mixed media artist whobecame a board member in September 2025. His art explores the intersection of art, commerce, portraiture and history. He is also the co-founder of Maximal Art Inc., known for 40 years of ‘Modern Vintage’ fashion jewelry and gifts sold internationally under the John Wind brand. Wind has had a deep relationship over the years with GFS personally, as well as through his involvement as President of the Dina Wind Art Foundation, which was created to honor the legacy of his mother, artist and arts advocate, Dina Wind. Her sculpture, Harp of David #1, is part of GFS’ permanent collection, and was created onsite at Johnson Atelier. The Foundation’s mission to empower living artists, build community, and support arts education dovetails with GFS’ aim to furtherartists’ creative practices, build relationships between the sculpture park and the local community, and bolster arts education. John was born in Israel, raised in Philadelphia, and studied at the University of Pennsylvania and the Slade School of Fine Art, London. He has been active in Philadelphia’s art scene for many years, serving in leadership roles at the Arts + Business Council, Fleisher Art Memorial, InLiquid, ICA, and Vox Populi.
Manting Chiang
MantingChiang is the newest member of the GFS Board, having joined this month. She currently works at Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) on the Global Oncology Commercial Strategy team. Since joining BMS, she has been passionate to connect the work with enterprise health equity initiatives and is currently leading the health equity pillar in the Pan Asian Network (PAN), where she oversees several non-profit and academic grant partnerships to serve the underrepresented AANHPI community. She has worked closely with government affairs and US Field Medical to further connect the work PAN and BMS is doing in the health equity space to the broader oncology community. With passion for wellness, community health, and the arts, she will be a welcome addition who will help heighten GFS’ ability to benefit its audiences’ wellbeing through the park’s intersection of arts and horticulture.She has a PhD from Rutgers University and MS from University at Buffalo.
