Small Living Things: The Magical Art of Eric Carle opens Valentine's Day weekend at Michener Art Museum

Doylestown, PA – Michener Art Museum welcomes the new exhibition Small Living Things: The Magical Art of Eric Carle with a public opening celebration on Saturday, February 14 from 1–4 p.m. An exhibition preview for Museum members is on Friday, February 13 from 1–4 p.m.
The exhibition, on view through May 24, features 86 original artworks by The Very Hungry Caterpillar author. Museum visitors will see famous picture book illustrations for titles like Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and meet characters from other bestsellers like The Very Quiet Cricket, The Very Busy Spider, The Very Clumsy Click Beetle, and The Grouchy Ladybug. Twenty-three of Eric Carle’s illustrations are on public display for the first time at the Michener as part of the exhibition.
Eric Carle-inspired events for all ages include stroller tours, art-making workshops, story times with the Bucks County Free Library, children’s music classes with Mini Music Makers, and more. Early registration is recommended. Mama Hawk’s Cafe at the Michener will feature special menu items themed after The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Museum admission is always free for ages 5 and under.
