ACME Screening: Make Me Famous & Q+A

NEWSROOM POST:  LAMBERTVILLE, NJ

Lambertville, NJ – Join the Acme Screening Room Sat September 9 at 5pm for the film “Make Me Famous” including a post screening QnA with filmmaker Brian Vincent, producer Heather Spore and cinematographer John Sawyer. Make Me Famous is a madcap romp through the 1980 & NYC art scene amid the colorful career of painter, Edward Brezinski, hell-bent on making it.

What begins as an investigation into Brezinski’s legacy and mysterious disappearance becomes a sharp, witty portrait of NYC’s 1980s downtown art scene resulting in an irresistible snapshot of an unknown artist that captures the spirit of an iconic era. An intriguing yet funny exploration of artistic successes, struggles, triumphs
and pain, the film defines a time and place: the East Village scene of the 1980s, fueled by myriad nostalgias-for old New York, for one of late modernism’s last bohemian enclaves, or simply for grit and authenticity in this age of endless simulation.
