Stockton, NJ – The next More Barn Studios concert is set for Saturday May 4th and features Americana folk-duo Minor Gold, with Reese Fulmer opening!  Intimate concert goers need to RSVP to save seats!  Doors will open at 7 pm and all concerts start at 7:30 pm.

Minor Gold are the new Americana-Folk duo from Australia, and feature ARIA nominated artists Tracy McNeil & Dan Parsons.  Having shared hundreds of stages together for the better part of a decade as respective songwriters and performers, ‘Minor Gold’ is the first official glimpse of this new and highly talented songwriting team.  Their sound is replete with masterful harmonies, deft guitar playing with dynamics ranging from the intense restraint of campfire intimacy through to open throttle abandon. We hear the hedonistic groove of early 70’s cosmic Americana, the daydream haze of 60’s folk, and the power and romance of 80’s pop, but despite the classic references of yore, it’s undeniably music written for the here and now.  Check out Minor Gold on Bandcamp!

Opening the concert will be Reese Fulmer!  Cutting his teeth as the house manager at the iconic Saratoga Springs listening room Caffe Lena, Reese Fulmer has emerged as a fully formed singer-songwriter with keen lyricism that explores the human experience with a patient and poetic touch. In less than three years of performing, he has begun touring the Northeast, leading an award-winning Americana band, and appearing at prestigious festivals like Mile of Music in Appleton WI. “Fulmer is a songwriter whose lyrics expose parts of myself to me that I often cannot put language to, and for that, I’m both grateful and mystified.” (Laura DaPolito, Nippertown)  Checkout Reese Fulmer and The Carriage House Band on Bandcamp.

The More Barn Studios concert series provides a music-first venue where talented, independent musicians who are creating original music can perform.  Shortly after opening the studio in August 2018, with the intent of providing music lessons, rehearsal space, and recording, we began to receive requests from musicians who wanted to perform in the space.  Although not initially part of the plan, there appeared to be a need, so we started holding concerts, sporadically at first and then monthly as COVID has receded.  So far, we’ve hosted more than 20 concerts featuring over 30 different performers, and we’re booked well into 2025.  Our concerts are free, with donation encouraged, and RSVP required.  In addition to the donations, which hopefully make the concerts financially viable for the musicians, we record video and audio of the concerts and provide this to the musicians for their own use.  We also live stream and post individual songs to the More Barn Studios Youtube channel, all with the goal of helping these musicians promote their art.

Amazed at the level of talent and creativity that these independent musicians display, and it’s been such a joy to learn about them and hear their music.  We always endeavor to learn as much as we can about the musicians that perform here, typically purchasing some (sometimes all!) of their music on Bandcamp, which is more musician friendly than the streaming services. We like to get familiar with their songs and, more often than not, this newly discovered music earns a spot in our regular music rotation.  Hosting these artists and learning their music has encouraged us to venture outside of the mainstream music industry, where some amazing things are happening, and doing this has truly enriched our lives in ways More Barn Studios could not have imagined.  These musicians deserve our support so that they’re able to continue to create this amazing and meaningful art.

More Barn Studios is run by Conor Peacock, with help on the concert series by Dan Peacock.  Visit our website or contact us by email at info@morebarnstudios.com to learn more.
