Flemington DIY seeks 10 community-minded, civics-curious creatives for a year-long program. Apply by January 12, 2026
Flemington, NJ – Flemington DIY seeks ten community-minded and civics-curious creatives across visual and performative arts who are interested in a year-long program exploring how engaging in civics and the arts can empower people.
The first five months will be discussions and activities led by Flemington DIY volunteers and local enthusiasts around the themes of social contracts, how government works at local and state level, collective action, mutual aid and other examples of democracies. The rest of the year will be spent creating an arts response to what we have learned together.ย
โWe are excited to create a space for people to learn more about the government and have the chance to dream up how we want our communities to thrive,โ says Flemington DIY volunteer and local business owner Nicole Maniez.
Those applying for the year-long program should be available to meet once a month on Saturdays from 3-5:30 pm. Other community members unable to commit to regular meetings are also encouraged to join us for the individual workshops and discussions.
