Harrisburg, PA – Artists in Pennsylvania are invited to leave their mark on history by participating in the statewide public art initiative, Bells Across Pennsylvania, a project of America250PA celebrating the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026.
This unique opportunity calls on local creatives—from emerging artists to seasoned professionals—to submit original design concepts for a three-foot fiberglass bell sculpture that will be publicly displayed in Bucks County. Each selected artist will receive a $1,250 honorarium upon completion of their design on the provided fiberglass bell, and their work will become part of a legacy collection stretching across all 67 Pennsylvania counties.
Spearheaded by the Pennsylvania Commission for the United States Semiquincentennial, Bells Across PA aims to honor Pennsylvania’s pivotal role in American history while showcasing the rich diversity, talent, and cultural contributions of local artists.
Submissions are still being accepted, and artists are encouraged to act quickly. Bells will be placed throughout 2025 and remain on display through the end of 2026. Artists may incorporate themes such as agriculture, history, environment, education, diversity, and more—ensuring each bell uniquely reflects its home county’s story.
