NEWSROOM POST: PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLAVNIA
The band blends storytelling lyrics, jangly guitars, and cosmic textures into something equal parts dusty, psychedelic, and distinctly from Philadelphia. New Album, Mirror In The Hallway, Due January 2026.
Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia natives known for their signature style of Americana with a cosmic twist, The Naked Sun, recently released the third single, “Mirror in The Hallway,” from their upcoming 2026 album of the same name. Mirror in the Hallway, blends the band’s signature storytelling lyrics, jangly guitars and cosmic textures into something equal parts dusty and psychedelic. Produced by Brian McTear and Amy Morrissey at Miner Street Recordings, the song features the cinematic guitar work of Tim Cambell and the smooth and strong vocals of Drew Harris. It’s easy to imagine The Naked Sun on festival dates supporting acts like The War on Drugs, Wilco, Neil Young or My Morning Jacket. “Mirror in The Hallway” follows singles “Make Believe” and “Witches,” both released earlier this year.
“The third single and title track from our upcoming new album, Mirror in the Hallway, began with a quiet, domestic moment: my dog Neko staring at her own reflection in a heavy mirror we’d propped on the floor,” says songwriter and lyricist, Drew Harris. “Animals usually ignore themselves; she didn’t. I jotted it down.”
“I’ve been staring into mirrors my whole life — as a child trying to outmaneuver the stranger on the other side, as a grown man checking hair, changing lanes, and adding a filter to a selfie,” he continues. “Mirrors are where we first learn we exist. They’re where we practice our faces, our roles, our lies. They are also where we confront the versions of ourselves we didn’t expect to meet.”

“This song asks what that reflected self really is. Who am I when everyone else knows a different version of me — teacher Drew, friend Drew, artist Drew, the guy at the bar Drew? Identity isn’t a single portrait; it’s an infinity mirror made of every person we’ve been and every person who looks back at us.”
“Mirror in the Hallway” is about that slow work of becoming: the small recognitions, the daily reckonings, and the hard, honest promise to be a clearer mirror for someone else. I’ll be your mirror, please be mine.”
The Naked Sun formed in Philadelphia around the songwriting of Drew Harris, who blends lyrical Americana with the soaring guitar tones of longtime collaborator Tim Campbell. Joined by rhythm section Dylan Mulcahy (drums) and Tom Tusler (bass), the band’s sound explores the friction between nostalgia and new beginnings, inner life and external chaos — all set to hooks that stick. Their upcoming full-length LP, Mirror in the Hallway (January 2026), is a shimmering, shadowy reflection of the last three years. Written and recorded during a time of change and reckoning, it’s their most cohesive and cinematic album yet — and a clear step into national-ready territory. Live, the band’s warm energy and sonic depth have landed them on bills with artists like Strand of Oaks, Low Cut Connie, and Rayland Baxter. Whether in a club, on a festival stage, or nestled in a South Philly garden, The Naked Sun delivers earnest, explosive performances built to last.
