Princeton Junction, NJ – This January, experience the vibrant fusion of Polynesian and Mid-Eastern dance traditions as Tehani Mid-East & Polynesian Dance Co takes the stage at West Windsor Arts. The event promises a dynamic performance, rich in tradition, accompanied by captivating music and authentic costumes. Tickets cost $10 for WWA members or $12 for non-members. Tehani Dance Company, led by director Margarete Naperski, invites you to a unique showcase blending Polynesian and Mid-Eastern dance styles. The performance will feature a mesmerizing Polynesian segment followed by a belly dance performance in folkloric styles, with interludes for enchanting costume changes. Join in the fun and learn traditional dances! This interactive event encourages attendees of all ages to take to the floor and immerse themselves in the rich cultural and historical significance of the dances from these vibrant regions.

Margarete Naperski, the visionary director of Tehani Dance Company, boasts a legacy of teaching and performing since the early 1970s. Trained by iconic figures in the dance world, including Serena Wilson, Ibrahim Farrah, Anahid Sofian, and Morocco, Naperski founded the Tehani Dance Company in the late ’90s. Following a two-year residence in Hawaii, where she immersed herself in Polynesian dances, Naperski returned to teach Mid-Eastern dance on Oahu. Since 2001, her student troupe has been delivering professional entertainment at assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and community events.
