A Legacy of Fine Craft in Pennsylvania

Founded in 2009, the Haverford Guild of Craftsmen is the 16th chapter of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen (PGC)—one of the oldest professional craft organizations in the country. What began with twelve founding artists from Haverford Township has grown to a vibrant membership of more than 100 fine craftspeople representing diverse disciplines, backgrounds, and approaches to design.

The Guild carries forward the Pennsylvania Guild’s longstanding mission, first established in 1944 under the encouragement of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, to nurture the arts, preserve traditional skills, and promote the value of handcrafted work in everyday life. Today, with over 1,300 members across 30 states, the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen continues to provide education, exhibitions, and professional support to artists who proudly uphold the state’s craft heritage.
