NEWRSOOM POST: PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA
HIGH LEVERAGE will serve as the retail opening , officially launched in May 2025, which has most recently been a fixture at local record shows and flea markets
Philadelphia, PA – HIGH LEVERAGE, a new East Kensington record store specializing in selling punk, emo, hardcore, and indie releases will be officially opening at 2644-46 Coral Street on September 5th at 10am.
Following the grand opening, HIGH LEVERAGE will primarily be open during weekday nights and weekends. Initial opening hours will be:
-Monday – Wednesday: 4-8pm
-Saturday: 10am-4pm
-Sunday: 10am-4pm
“Punk, record collecting, and DIY music radically changed my life for the better. Many of these early, formative moments for me happened in Philadelphia through what has always been a vibrant, engaged community. My hope is that this space will help pay that back and forward in being a net-positive to local music fans of all types.” said Billy Philhower, Owner of HIGH LEVERAGE.
HIGH LEVERAGE is actively looking for local creatives and businesses to collaborate with post-grand opening and will be seeking to hire 1-2 part-time store staff.
HIGH LEVERAGE is a record store specializing in vinyl, particularly across the punk, hardcore, screamo, indie, weirdo, and related genres. It aims to contribute to the East Kensington and greater Philadelphia region by creating a space for record buying, selling, trading, and overall engagement with music as an art form.
