Pennsbury Manor’s Annual Fundraiser Features Food Trucks, Live Music, and Beer, Wine, Cider, Mead, and Spirits Tastings on June 27th

Bucks County, PA  On Saturday, June 27, Brews & Bites, a beer, wine, and spirits tasting event at Pennsbury Manor, will kick off the Independence Day holiday week.

Held al fresco at the idyllic riverfront home of Pennsylvania’s founder William Penn, this sunset fundraiser from 4-8 p.m. features local beer tasting, food trucks, and live music by classic rock/motown band AUGUST. Since William Penn established a brew house on the site in the 1680s, Pennsbury will offer samples of beer brewed on site for tasting at the event.

New this year, Aristaeus Craft Brewing Company will be pouring a recreation of a 17th century Penn family recipe by William Penn’s first wife Guliama (pronounced: Goo-lee-ah-ma).  Aristaeus brewed Apple Beer in collaboration with Pennsbury Manor.

This event supports high-quality educational visits and programming at Pennsbury Manor for more than 10,000 school children annually.

“William Penn understood the importance of brewing long before Pennsylvania had a craft beer scene,” said Pennsbury Manor Site Director Doug Miller. “At Brews & Bites, we celebrate that 300-year-old tradition in a way that feels lively and current – with local tastings, live music, and support for Pennsbury Manor’s education programs.”
