New Hope, PA – Victoria Weinberg, a Tony award-winning theatre and live events producer, delighted a packed Phillips’ Mill audience on November 19 at the Emerging Playwright Competition Reading of Winning Plays.
The SRO crowd included playwrights, actors and audience members who were fully engaged with Weinberg’s lively question and answer session after the readings. Fielding a myriad of questions, she informed and inspired her listeners with the ins and outs of putting creative work in front of the right people to get it produced.
Weinberg is the U.S. producer of Glass Half Full Productions, an international production company on Broadway, in London’s West End, and in Australia. She has a particular interest in working with organizations that promote new works for the stage which is what brought her to Phillips’ Mill.
This was Phillips’ Mill Community Association’s 7th Annual Emerging Playwright Competition, a juried event that has gained a spirited following of creative writers within a 100-mile radius of the Mill. Up to 50 original, unpublished, unproduced submissions are accepted each summer with six winners announced in the fall. The winning playwrights receive the opportunity to see their plays read by actors to a live audience on the historic stage at Phillips’ Mill along with a $100 prize.
