The Public is Invited to Celebrate Opening Night of “The Life and Works of Beatricia Sagar” – A Retrospective Exhibition Honoring a Visionary New Hope Artist
Opening Reception: Friday, April 4 | 6–8 PM | New Hope Arts

New Hope, PA – The public is warmly invited to attend the Opening Reception of “The Life and Works of Beatricia Sagar on Friday, April 4, from 6–8 PM at New Hope Arts, for a special evening honoring one of the region’s most revered and inspirational artists.

This must-see retrospective celebrates the extraordinary life and career of Beatricia Sagar, a visionary abstract artist and beloved nonagenarian who has profoundly shaped the creative fabric of New Hope. The exhibition features over 40 powerful works, including selections from her Vessels, Totems, and Empty Room series. Visitors will also experience interactive events and programming throughout the month in tribute to Sagar’s enduring artistic legacy.

A centerpiece of the exhibition is Sagar’s “We Are All Connected” Art Project, a poignant and globally collaborative series born during the pandemic. In this moving installation, Sagar mailed puzzle pieces to artists around the world, each invited to add their personal mark before returning them. She then assembled the uniquely painted pieces into completed puzzles—a powerful symbol of shared humanity and unity through art.

Don’t miss Opening Night on April 4 from 6–8 PM—come meet the artist and experience this vibrant tribute firsthand.
In addition, guests are invited to attend a special Q&A with Beatricia Sagar on Saturday, April 5, from 4–5 PM. This event is free with a suggested $10 donation at the door for those who can or would like to contribute.

This exhibition also continues the mission of the Legacy Exhibition Series, created by Carol Cruickshanks, Director Emerita of New Hope Arts, to honor senior professional artists who have devoted their lives to creative expression. This initiative provides rare and meaningful space for established artists to showcase large bodies of work, chronicling their journeys and lifelong impact.

“Beatricia Sagar’s life and work exemplify the artistic spirit that has long defined New Hope,” says Christine Ramirez, Executive Director of New Hope Arts. “Through this exhibition, we honor her remarkable journey, from her early days shaping the local arts scene to her lasting international impact. We are thrilled to share her vision with the community and celebrate the enduring power of her art.”
