Lambertville, NJ – Acme Screening Room in Lambertville, New Jersey, will welcome back its popular Artist Series on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 5 p.m. with a special screening of Pollock, followed by a discussion with Carol Cruickshanks, Emerita Director of New Hope Arts.
The 2000 biographical drama explores the turbulent life, creative process and artistic legacy of influential American painter Jackson Pollock, whose revolutionary approach to abstract expressionism and action painting helped reshape 20th-century American art.
Pollock Brings the Life of Jackson Pollock to the Screen
Directed by and starring Ed Harris, who received an Academy Award nomination for his portrayal of Pollock, the film offers an intimate look at the artist’s creative genius, groundbreaking painting techniques and personal struggles.
Marcia Gay Harden co-stars as artist Lee Krasner, Pollock’s wife and an accomplished painter whose role in both Pollock’s life and the Abstract Expressionist movement has received increasing recognition. Harden won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film.

Following the screening, audiences are invited to stay for an interactive discussion led by Carol Cruickshanks, Emerita Director of New Hope Arts.
Cruickshanks will share insights into Pollock’s enduring influence, the mid-century modern art movement and the film’s portrayal of the artist and his era.
Acme Screening Room’s Artist Series brings together film and fine art, offering audiences an opportunity to explore the lives, work and cultural influence of artists through cinema and conversation.
